abmpegasus™ Intelligence Source Register

abmpegasus™ Intelligence Source Register (ISR) provides agencies with a means of ensuring anonymity with regards to origin of information, while at the same time facilitating the dissemination of this information within an agency.

The ISR can function in a standalone capacity when added to an agency’s existing intelligence system, or can be fully integrated with any abmpegasus modules to automatically identify instances where 'status drift' may have occurred, alerting an identified group when a pre-set number of contacts have been exceeded, thus assisting in compliance with legislative requirements including the UK's Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. The ISR acts in the capacity of a firewall between information gatherers and end users.

The primary function of the ISR is in protecting the origin of material obtained during covert operations, such as human source management, surveillance or undercover work. However the flexible nature of the product means that it can be used in the processing of information from any origin.

The ISR allocates a non-consecutive Unique Reference Number (URN) to each piece of information that is recorded. A unique reference number means that information can be disseminated without the end user being aware of the origin of that information, enabling its use in a manner that remains untainted by knowledge of its origin. The ISR provides additional protection for the agency in event of the material being subject to disclosure during judicial proceedings.

The URN allocated to each piece of information also means that those within the agency that have sufficient access authority can identify where any piece of information contained in the database, has originated; assisting in ensuring the integrity of that information and providing a comprehensive audit trail where required.

abmpegasus ISR is one of the newest modules to be added to the growing suite and provides a cost effective means to assist agencies in discharging their duty of care to the public and in providing significant additional security in respect of covert operations.
