abmpegasus™ Information in Confidence
abmpegasus™ Information in Confidence (IIC) is at the cutting edge of the information technology used in support of intelligence gathering.
IIC, which forms one of the latest abmpegasus covert intelligence modules, has been designed with a number of the UK’s leading law enforcement agencies to manage information received in confidence from members of the public, including the risks inherent in the handling of this type of information.
The IIC facilitates both the recording of the information passed to the agency, and the provenance of that information.
The module can be used in stand alone mode or as a fully integrated component of the abmpegasus intelligence suite. Integration with ABM’s ‘source management module’ enables the automated transfer of records where it has been identified that a person previously regarded as a ‘member of the public’ has reached the agency’s threshold where they should be reviewed for authorisation and management as a Covert Human Intelligence Source (CHIS).
The IIC module is designed to assist in regulatory compliance and to enable an agency to discharge its duty of care to the public.
The adaptable nature of the IIC module means that it can be tailored to meet the needs of any agency with regard to access control, and with regard to the terminology used within each screen. The user friendly nature of the data fields mean that data can be entered with little or no training and each field is supported by explanatory notes embedded in the module.
While the primary function is to deal with information received from members of the public the IIC module can be used to manage information of any origin. This will include information received from other law enforcement agencies, government authorities (such as social workers and teachers) and other voluntary bodies. The IIC module is the perfect tool for managing a wide range of information supplied by the private sector such as ‘suspicious activity reports’ supplied to the agency in connection with money-laundering or the purchase of precursor chemicals used in the production of illicit narcotics.
The IIC module reduces labour intensive record keeping providing agencies with significant cost savings.
