IMS Suite Overview

The performance of the police service is driven by the appropriate management of accurate information to drive investigation and operational decision making.  ABM’s Information Management System (IMS) has been specifically developed to provide quality and accurate information right across the enterprise.

Designed as an integrated suite of products, IMS enables the organisation to drive performance through the appropriate targeting of information to the right individuals, allowing workload to be managed and greater results to be delivered.  Providing the service with four core components, IMS enables the delivery and management of:

• Crime Input and Investigation Management
• Incident Management (including areas such as Traffic Collisions, Warrants, Domestic Violence, Missing Persons , ASBO etc.)
• Intelligence Management (including Stop/Search)
• Property Management (including Lost, Seized, Damaged, Stolen and full property location management)

All of this information is managed within a single database, providing a centralised view across the enterprise and a single golden record view for People, Objects, Locations and Events (POLE).  IMS is one of the only applications available in the market today that implements a true Golden Nominal approach.

The system also provides a fully enabled web service portal to allow information sharing and direct management of workload through mobile devices.  The web service connects directly with third party systems such as ViSOR, ANPR, Demand Management, I2 Analysis, Gazetteer and Mapping, Global Data Stores (GDS) and other key areas of data integration.  This enables improved information sharing, enhancing the protection of officers, organisations and improving MAPPA coverage.

IMS is one of the most advanced enterprise applications available within the market today with proven large scale implementations supporting over 45,000 users in the UK.  The system has been designed in conjunction with the Police Service and in accordance with national standards such as Information Systems Strategy for the Police Service (ISS4PS), Management of Police Information (MoPI), National Intelligence Model (NIM), Community Security Policy (CSP), Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS) and a number of core legislation and codes of practice.
